Where the numbers come from
Every franchisor selling in the United States has to give buyers a standard set of figures before they sign, and file them with state regulators each year. We take ours from the most recent filing each franchisor made with the Minnesota Department of Commerce, which publishes them. Each brand page says which year and page a figure comes from and links to the filing.
- The franchise fee you pay up front
- The royalty, marketing fund and other ongoing fees
- The estimated total cost to open
- Sales or earnings figures, when the franchisor shares them
- Locations at the start and end of each year, and how many opened and closed
What we are not
Franchise Tally is not a franchise broker and is not paid by franchisors. Brand names identify each franchise; the brands are not affiliated with this site. Before buying, read the franchisor’s full documents and agreement, and talk to current and former owners.
